The Story
Grown in the remote village of Tres Pinos, Honduras, Finca Santa Lucia sits within the Montaña de La Choca, a national mountain reserve where elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,650 meters create a uniquely dynamic growing environment. The shifting altitude, cool air, and rich mountain soils give this coffee its distinctive character — clean, balanced, and full of nuance.
Producer Nelson Raul Amador has dedicated his life to perfecting what his family began generations ago. The washed-process beans deliver a refined and approachable cup — notes of white chocolate, toasted nuts, caramel, and citrus make it ideal for espresso or beautifully paired with milk. Every detail of the process reflects the careful balance of tradition and innovation that Nelson Raul inherited from his father, Don Ermenegildo Rodriguez, a pioneer in introducing exotic coffee varietals to the region.
Nelson Raul's commitment extends far beyond the farm. By paying the highest wages in the region and donating a portion of profits to improve local infrastructure, he ensures that the benefits of this coffee reach the entire community. Odysea Coffee is proud to source this exceptional microlot through our direct partnership with Nelson Raul Amador — a close friend of our co-founder Francisco Galeano, who visits his farms at least five times a year to handpick the lots that make their way into your cup.
