Finca Río Colorado – Parainema Natural
Finca Río Colorado is located in Capucas, Copán, on the outskirts of the Honduran cloud forest Celaque National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. At 1,200 to 1,600 meters above sea level, this lush farm is named after the two rivers that run on either side, creating an ideal microclimate for cultivating exceptional coffee.
This lot features the Parainema variety, processed naturally to highlight its vibrant fruit character. The result is a sweet and complex cup with notes of chocolate, berries, dried fruits, and brown sugar, offering a rich, full-bodied experience with a long, elegant finish.
Produced by Mabel Ortiz and Francisco Galeano, Odysea Coffee partners and fourth-generation coffee growers, this coffee embodies their continuous pursuit of quality and innovation—combining tradition, care, and sustainability in every harvest.
Farm Story
Finca Río Colorado is more than just a coffee farm—it’s a legacy. For four generations, the Galeano Ortiz family has been cultivating coffee throughout Honduras. In 2014, Mabel Ortiz and Francisco Galeano, Odysea Coffee partners, in collaboration with Umami Area, acquired Finca Río Colorado—a 40-hectare (98-acre) farm located on the edge of Celaque National Park, Honduras’ most mountainous region.
Over the past decade, they have worked tirelessly to improve coffee quality through new varieties, innovative processing methods, and sustainable practices. Finca Río Colorado is Slow Food Certified, emphasizing respect for the environment, local biodiversity, and fair production.
Beyond coffee production, the farm is a center for community and education—partnering with Odysea Coffee to host coffee tours and share their passion and story with visitors from around the world.
